About Us

Ballet Petite is the first premiere dance education program exclusively for the young child. The specialized curriculum was developed by Nancy Parenti in 1992. Along with the technical leveling of each class, she developed the “storydance.”

Each day is a magical door opening to an enchanted realm where stories are enacted and the wonders of all of the arts shine in the light of imagination.

Ballet Petite is an intermediate step between natural movement and formal classical ballet training. The children learn to move from creative movement to pre-primary ballet. We incorporate dance choreography, classical children’s literature, music compositions and beautiful costumes.

The educational value is to introduce dance, artistically, to young children. The artistry of Ballet Petite speaks to the heart of children.

Miss Marie Claire

Miss Isabelle

Miss Isabelle is the owner of Ballet Petite and has been running the company for a year now after having taken over from her mother, Nancy Parenti who was the founder of the company. Miss Isabelle has grown along with Ballet Petite and has a love for how much joy the classes can bring to young ballerinas as they start their ballet journeys. The element that children’s literature brings to Ballet Petite’s classes is Miss Isabelle’s favorite part due to how ballerinas might not be able to communicate what happens in the story yet verbally, but how after class they know exactly how to communicate the story of the ballet by dancing out the story. Miss Isabelle shares a special step with her ballerinas at the end of each class in the hopes that they go home to practice with their grownups. She loves the idea of ballet not just being for the ballet studio, but something for ballerinas to do anywhere at any time with friends and family!
